How to turn off Dashboard on Mac OSX

Dashboard is nice, and I prefer to keep it at my hand, but if your Mac is slow then you may want to turn it off permanently. And this post if for you

1. To turn off the Dashboard, open Terminal (from Spotlight or /Applications/Utilities/Terminal), and enter the following command

defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES

2. To enable it again, enter the following command into the Terminal

defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean NO

3. Restart the dock with the command

killall Dock
